Exhibition Opening: "Along the Way" at the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture

On April 20, 2026, we celebrated the opening of the exhibition "Along the Way" at the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture. The vernissage brought together over 150 guests, including artists, collectors, and critics, marking a vibrant start to the project.

The exhibition features 50 paintings by Nadezhda Krestinina in a curated dialogue with 12 graphic works by distinguished architects from the Museum’s permanent collection. "Along the Way" invites viewers to immerse themselves in a visual narrative of travel memories and personal reflections.

During the opening ceremony, curators Ksenia Lagoiskaya and Olga Marutyan, along with the artist Nadezhda Krestinina, shared a few words with the guests.

Ksenia Lagoiskaya:

“I would like to start by expressing my deepest gratitude to everyone who supported us in making this project a reality. First and foremost, thank you to Nadezhda Krestinina for her breathtaking paintings and for such a wonderful collaboration.

We are immensely grateful to the Museum of Architecture and its Director, Natalia Shashkova, as well as the entire museum team. Special thanks to our architectural partners and our project partner, 'Tochka Opory'. Finally, my heartfelt thanks go to my co-curator and dear friend, Olga Marutyan. We truly hope that our project resonates with you.”

Olga Marutyan shared a behind-the-scenes story of the project:

“When we first realized we needed to integrate museum artifacts with Nadezhda’s paintings, we were initially concerned — these worlds seemed so distinct. However, through our collective efforts, it all came together beautifully. I want to thank the Museum for their trust, and a special thank you to Elena Prokhanova, who heroically guided us through the entire installation process.

My deepest thanks also go to Ksenia: she fully immersed herself in this project and was the creative force behind so many of its ideas. And, of course, I am grateful to the artist! You can see the result of our collaboration for yourselves. We are always eager to hear your feedback, especially from fellow artists. Thank you for joining us — the celebration has begun! As Nadezhda Krestinina writes: ‘Moving forward!’”

Nadezhda Krestinina noted:

“I am surprised myself at how this exhibition has come together. My thanks to Ksenia and Olga. The Museum of Architecture introduced an interesting note of objectivity — it creates a powerful contrast with the somnambulistic state of the paintings.
