Finissage and Retrospective of the Exhibition 'Along the Way'

We are happy to share a video filmed at the finissage of the exhibition "Along the Way" at the Schusev State Museum of Architecture. Curators Ksenia Lagoiskaya and Olga Marutyan, along with artist Nadezhda Krestinina, share their impressions of how the project came together, how the artworks found a new resonance within the museum walls, and why the exhibition became a significant event for everyone who saw it. Ksenia Lagoiskaya, project curator:

When I first visited Nadia's studio (Nadezhda Krestinina, the artist – Ed.), I immediately thought it would be wonderful to do an exhibition with her. I saw something truly unique in her works—the beautiful use of color and light, and that stunning, fresco-like quality. I fell in love with her technique instantly. So when the opportunity came up, I didn't hesitate for a second, because it perfectly aligned with my own thoughts.

Nadezhda Krestinina, artist:

Looking at the exhibition now, I realize everything came together so perfectly that nothing needs to be added. The layout is just spectacular! The color of the walls, the way everything is set up... Overall, the artworks took on a whole new life and complement each other beautifully. They have breathing room, yet they support one another. All in all, I think it turned out great.

Olga Marutyan, project curator:

When we started, they immediately offered to extend the exhibition, and I thought it would last an eternity (2.5 months – Ed.). But today, with only two days left, I realize that time has actually flown by. The artist's characters and imagery have truly merged here with this architecture, this room, and this building. Even the museum attendants, who usually work at other exhibitions, tell visitors: 'Please take a look, there is another exhibition here.' All things considered, I believe our project has been a great success.
